Rebonding is one of our longest and most transformative services — it takes anywhere from 3 to 5 hours depending on your hair length and thickness. Going in prepared makes the experience significantly more comfortable and the results significantly better.
Before Your Appointment
48 hours before:
- ›Wash your hair normally — but do NOT use any deep conditioner, hair mask, or oil treatment in the 48 hours before your appointment. These coat the hair shaft and prevent the rebonding solution from penetrating evenly.
- ›Avoid applying any styling product (leave-in conditioner, serum, mousse) the day before.
- ›Come with completely dry hair. Wet or damp hair adds time and can dilute the chemical.
- ›Wear a comfortable, old button-up or zip-up top. You should not pull clothing over your head after rebonding.
- ›Eat a full meal before you arrive — you'll be seated for 3–5 hours.
What to Bring
- ›A book, phone, or tablet (the waiting time during processing is significant)
- ›Hair ties (not elastics — use loose scrunchies) for after the service
- ›If you have long hair, consider bringing a light cardigan — salons are air-conditioned and you'll be stationary for hours
What to Expect During the Service
1. Consultation — Sir George will assess your hair's condition, note any previous chemical treatments, and confirm the appropriate formula.
2. Application — rebonding solution applied section by section. This takes 30–60 minutes.
3. Processing — the solution processes for 20–40 minutes depending on your hair type.
4. Straightening — every section is flat-ironed at high heat to permanently restructure the bonds.
5. Neutralizer — applied to lock the new bond structure in place.
6. Rinse and finish — your hair is rinsed, blow-dried straight, and flat-ironed one final time.
The 72-Hour Rule
After your service, keep hair straight and completely dry for 72 hours. No washing, no tucking behind ears, no hair ties. This is when the bonds fully set.
Any deviation in the first 72 hours will result in waves, kinks, or uneven straightness that cannot be reversed without redoing the treatment.
